Not just a bluegrass documentary, the film explores one of the most versatile and innovative musicians in history. A master of his instrument, Mike Stevens is a man who transcends the boundaries of a ten hole harmonica.

This film is about a man who crosses the boundaries of traditional bluegrass and world musical influences. It follows him as his life takes him from such places as the Grand Ole Opry, to his son's elementary school. It explores his diverse musical style that radiates his influences from Gamalon music and Tuven throat singers.

The film also explores his unique life, as he tries to find peace in his family life. Remaining in his hometown Sarnia, Ontario, Mike manages all aspects of his musical career from his office at home. Here he is able to juggle life as a professional musician, a father and a husband. Home is also where he puts himself through a rigorous physical training regimen, which is intended to avoid serious injury, as described by Mike in the film.

He reaches audiences around the world with his music. Playing with such bluegrass legends as Jim and Jesse, this Canadian has found his way into the roots of one of the most traditional southern expressions of music. He has battled adversity in developing a style of playing that was not always welcome, to become a true entertainer to bluegrass fans.

The film explores his unique life and musical style. He demonstrates his training ritual, his transient solo style and talks about the "dangers" of playing the harmonica.

While on the road, Mike is bound to explore interesting avenues and meet up with interesting folks. With close ties to people from all walks of life, and all over, Mike is truly a citizen of the world.
